WINDSOR TRACE COMBINED DRIVING EVENT & COMBINED TEST
North American Intermediate Championships
Carolina Preliminary Triple Crown
November 2nd through 5th, 2023
1060 Curb Chain Lane, Windsor, SC
Now celebrating its 9th year!
Dear Friend of the Windsor Trace CDE,
The Windsor Trace CDE and CT is an exciting carriage driving competition in the Windsor Trace community, 15 miles from downtown Aiken, South Carolina. The CDE is a three-phase event featuring dressage on Friday, marathon on Saturday, and cones on Sunday. The CT (dressage and cones) is on Thursday. We strive to provide a safe and encouraging environment for beginners as well as a challenging course for experienced drivers. The competition is open to equines of all shapes and sizes driven as singles, pairs and four-in-hand teams.
This year we are hosting the North American Intermediate Championships. Our event is also part of the Carolina Preliminary Triple Crown (Timberland, Pinetree and Windsor Trace, with double points for VSEs at Windsor Trace, since they cannot enter Pine Tree)! Not driving? Consider signing up for the Technical Delegate Clinic at the show.
Events such as ours cannot survive without the support of others as, unfortunately, the entry fees are not enough to cover the expenses. Over 70 volunteers have committed to help but we also need financial support. Windsor Trace is a 501(c)(3). Sponsorship donations are tax deductible.
This year we have once again selected The Large Animal Rescue Team (L.A.R.T.), operated by Aiken Public Safety, as the charity that will receive a portion of the proceeds from our event. Your generous support not only helps the show but also benefits this local, all-volunteer, non-profit organization. L.A.R.T. is on call 24/7 for large animal emergencies in and around Aiken County and is the only full-time team of this type in South Carolina. Over the last few years, L.A.R.T. has rescued horses and cattle in the wake of hurricanes and assisted with loose horses and cattle, horses stuck in mud, or down sick horses. More information is on their Facebook page, “Aiken Volunteer Mounted Unit”, and website at: www.aikenvolunteermountedunit.org.
I hope you can help us with our event this year! If you have questions, suggestions or special requests, please feel free to contact me at www.windsortracecde.com or 610-960-8695. Additional information can be found on the Windsor Trace CDE Facebook page as well as in the American Driving Society Omnibus event listing.
